Hitachi Astemo (Astemo), a leading automotive industry supplier, continues its NTT INDYCAR SERIES partnership with Team Penske for a 14th consecutive year in 2025 as a sponsor of the No. 2 Chevrolet driven by Josef Newgarden.
Two-time series champion Newgarden last year became the first driver in more than 20 years to score back-to-back Indianapolis 500 wins, while also giving Team Penske a record 20th Indy 500 victory. He will try to become the first driver in history to win “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” in three consecutive years.
Astemo supplies fuel-system components for all the 2.2-liter twin-turbocharged Chevrolet race engines in the series, last year helping Chevrolet win its ninth NTT INDYCAR SERIES Manufacturing Championship since returning to INDYCAR competition in 2012.
"Winning is all about teamwork," Team Penske’s Tim Cindric said. "Josef Newgarden and this No. 2 Hitachi Astemo Chevrolet team are proven winners, yet we still have plenty to prove going into the 2025 season.”
Red-and-white Astemo colors and branding will appear as the primary sponsor on Newgarden’s car at races in Long Beach, California (April 13), Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course (May 10), Detroit (June 1), both doubleheader races at Newton, Iowa (July 12-13), Monterey, California (July 27), Portland, Oregon (Aug. 10) and Newgarden’s hometown of Nashville, Tennessee (Aug. 31).
"We're looking forward to another record-setting partnership year with Chevrolet and Team Penske," said Rob Sharpe, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Hitachi Astemo Americas. "With Josef Newgarden in command of the No. 2 Astemo Chevrolet, the outlook for 2025 is a bright one."
